Ability to upload video thumbnail
Marcelo Feitosa commented
The half way frame of the video is definitely not an answer for this request.
Although, third-parties video services work nice on that thumbnail matter, they appear smaller and not aligned with the rest of the content, which is also not ideal.
So, if you are not letting us choose the thumbnail, let us at least make the third-party videos the size we want 🙏

I just goes to show, that either... Adobe are not reading these comments, OR... they ARE reading them and chooseing to just ignore all the requests for something which is hardly THAT special/unusual/weird. All we want is to be able to choose which image to have as our thumbnail. Like others have stated, the exact half way point of the video is often not appropriate. The video i just uploaded to my portfolio site has a mix transition at exactly 50% through the video. Please sort this out Adobe.
Hello!? Mic check check...Aheeemm It's been 3 years now since we ask for the feature may the captain stand up? Hello captan, this your bottom feeders from a miserable depth of everyday creative life - would you please add a thumbnail feature to the videos? Or shell we call this project - unnecessary waist of time?
𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: If you save your videos to Vimeo and use the embed code element in adobe portfolio it will show your opening frame as a thumbnail. I edit my video and put in my desired thumbnail at the start.
I did it as follows:
1. Add videos to Vimeo
2. Go to the copy link on your Vimeo video; it will give you two options one copy link and copy embed link. Click the embed link code option.
3. Go to adobe portfolio, and add the embed code element via the blue add button.
4. Click into the embed code panel on the left of your screen and control v in the code and press the save embed button.
It should show immediately.
I know it's convoluted but it's better than a random screen as a thumbnail. :)
Ability to upload video to thumbnail would be greatly appreciated instead of random image from the video

2 Years and still nothing? What is going on Adobe Portfolio??
Same as other comments. I want to be able to share my video portfolio work, which is created by your other product, Adobe Premiere—and it's almost a slap in the face to not be able to make the design choice of how a video you worked so *******, makes its first impression.
----- I'm tempted to use another web hosting platform, solely because of this issue.
Currently, you cannot indicate which frame you'd like to be the default/thumbnail view of an uploaded (not embedded) video. In platforms like YouTube or Vimeo, you're able to select, or even upload what frame you want to be displayed when viewers look at your page before pressing 'play'.
Anyway, there are other site builders (e.g. Squarespace) that allow you to choose what you want the thumbnail to be, regardless of an uploaded video file OR an embedded YouTube file.)
As a web portfolio platform for designers, please understand your users are quite fastidious about how they want their site to look. The whole purpose of a portfolio site is to make your work shine; and we can only do that when we're making those decisions.
For a portfolio builder, this is a necessity! Presenting a clean look is what it's all about. Embed is not nearly enough with too much distraction and unwanted outsider links. Please add this!

The possibility to edit the cover photo of the videos, which today is only possible if the video is uploaded through an embedded link.
It's not nice to have to include an external link to have a nice cover for my videos.
Some videos can't be uploaded to youtube due to privacy, using the built-in uploader is a necessity in some case, as people can't share or download the content.
Please Adobe sort this out !!

Just to strongly agree with everyone else. The middle frame Portfolio selected as a cover for a recent video was half way through a cross dissolve transition so looked blurry and weird. Viewers need to be enticed to click on a video by a strong cover image. It is crazy that a cover thumbnail is not selectable in some way and makes the video functionality of Portfolio unusable. Sadly I’ll have to look elsewhere until this is fixed which is a shame as in most other respects Portfolio meets my needs.
This is a no-brainer.

Yep. What everyone else just said.
This is a must have feature. I recently made a video page on my portfolio and it looks like dogsh*t now.
I cannot believe this isn't already a feature for a portfolio service supposedly made for professionals.
I've spent weeks creating video content to have all this effort to be trashed by not being able to set a suitable poster frame thumbnail, is Adobe used by the professionals or do I need to start looking elsewhere
